Morocco’s Oasis Festival Turns 5 with Four Tet, Jayda G, Mall Grab and more
Oasis Festival turns 5 this year! Taking place from 13th – 15th September 2019, the pioneering Moroccan festival’s landmark fifth edition promises to be the biggest to date, featuring thrilling debuts, rising local stars and returning favourites, including Four Tet, Dixon B2B Âme, Sonja Moonear, Apollonia, Mall Grab, Loco Dice, Jayda G and many more.
Founded in 2015, Oasis Festival has firmly established itself as North Africa’s premier electronic music festival. Welcoming the world’s biggest DJs and live acts to Morocco, many for the first time, as well as showcasing a wealth of regional talent, the festival’s carefully curated programme has helped bring plenty of international attention and new audiences to the flourishing local scene.
There is lots to excite music lovers at this fifth edition: Making his Oasis Festival debut is Four Tet, one of dance music's most consistently innovative forces. Whether making intricate electronic soundtracks or laying down driving sets of house, techno and garage, the Text boss and NTS host is a true tastemaker who is consistently ahead of the curve.
Next up, and making a welcome return to Oasis Festival for what is sure to be a standout set of the weekend, are Innervisions founders Âme and Dixon. Both have played memorable sets at Oasis, but on the occasion of the 5th anniversary they join forces for what will be a very special back-to-back performance. Between them, these artists have refined an emotional, uplifting strand of house music that is sure to take you on a truly emotional trip in the most fitting of settings.
Renowned for their back2back2back spectaculaire, Parisian techno collective Apollonia will bring their unique energy to Oasis in 2019. The French trio of Shonky, Dan Ghenacia and Dyed Soundorom continue to blaze a trail around the globe with their infectious brand of groove-driven house and are sure to keep the dancefloor jumping on what will become Morocco’s biggest dancefloor that weekend.
Treasured Ecuadorian Nicola Cruz brings his live set of celebrated downtempo Andean-electronic productions to Oasis 2019, while new school talents like Mall Grab, Jayda G, Josey Rebelle and Or:la, play across the spectrum, from house to disco, soul to funk, and always make a party-starting impact.
Fans of big and chunky techno will be excited by the appearance of Desolat boss Loco Dice and there's yet more Oasis debuts from Sonja Moonear, Mind Against and Silvie Loto, three of techno’s most revered selectors, plus a live show from DMX Krew, one of dance music’s most visceral experiences. Add in rising Moroccan stars Azzezdine and MMMC, the always colourful sounds of standout London crewHorse Meat Disco and more from Ciel and Trikk, and you have exactly the sort of cultured and diverse lineup that Oasis has become so well loved for. With plenty more still to be announced, the fifth edition of this boutique beauty is shaping up to be the best yet.
