“Move Your Soul”: Tom Wax’s Latest Techno Banger Lands on Better With You Music

For more than 30 years, Tom Wax has been a defining force in both techno and house music, consistently pushing the boundaries of electronic sound. Since beginning his journey in 1988, Wax has created a unique sonic identity that blends the pulsating drive of techno with the soulful groove of house. His music has resonated with DJs and producers around the world, leaving a lasting impact on dancefloors and inspiring countless artists to follow in his footsteps.

What truly sets Wax apart is his remarkable ability to evolve while staying true to the core elements that defined his sound in the early days. The ’90s saw him producing some of the era’s most iconic tracks, including “Cosmic Evolution” and “Freedom of Expression” through projects like Arpeggiators and DJ Tom & Norman. His international breakthrough came in 1995 with AWeX’s “It’s Our Future,” released on the legendary Plastic City label, a track that still holds a revered place in techno history.

Entering the 2000s, Wax shifted focus to his solo career, delivering a steady stream of releases on influential labels such as Toolroom, Filth On Acid, and his very own Phuture Wax imprint. His latest single, the hard-hitting “Move Your Soul” on Better ‘With You Music, showcases his ever-present ability to fuse fresh energy with the signature sound that made him a legend.

But Wax’s legacy is not just limited to his music production. His work as A&R for labels like Harthouse/Eye Q and Music Research helped nurture emerging talents, while his long-standing residency at Frankfurt’s Dorian Gray solidified his status as a powerhouse DJ. Collaborations with electronic music giants like CJ Bolland, Marshall Jefferson, and Kai Tracid further illustrate his deep connections within the scene, and his expansive remix catalog includes reworks for artists such as Erasure, Yello, and Jam & Spoon.

Tom Wax remains a pioneer in the industry, continually pushing the evolution of techno and house. With his latest release “Move Your Soul,” he proves once again that his impact on the genre is as profound today as it was when he first started.
