Established electronic music festival Movement Torino is set to take you out of this world for its 14th edition on October 31 boasting an even bigger spectacle than previous years.
Following its sister festival in Detroit, Movement Torino are proud to combine an eclectic mix of music with the city’s celebrated history of art. With a world class line-up of the finest techno talents the scene has to offer coming to Italy this autumn, the main event is centred amidst a week of festivities parallel to leading international contemporary art fair ARTISSIMA, taking place from October 28 to November 2.
This covers a whole host of activities including ‘Politechno’ – a series of lectures at the Politecnico di Torino; a variety of post-festival club nights and a private event at Torino Airport Departures Lounge.
Movement offers a thrill to the senses, exploring sound, light and even culinary delights. Why not find yourself in Turin to sample truffles in peak season fresh from Torino’s Piedmont region.
Encompassing the 50th anniversary of the moon landing and Halloween into one, Movement Festival are taking you to out of space with this year’s space travel theme, expect an intergalactic affair with out of this world lighting and stage production set to take you on a wholly immersive experience.
Once again the venue is Lingotto, a vast building that’s like a conference centre-come-aircraft hangar. It’s divided into different arenas that range from huge to more intimate. Each one is transformed with stunning production; LED screens and lights all add extra dimensions to the music which booms from huge speaker stacks that are more than sufficient to saturate the space with sound.
Previous years have seen legendary names in electronic music including Nina Kraviz,Amelie Lens, Charlotte de Witte, Jon Hopkins, Ilario Alicante and The Martinez Brothers. This year, Movement Torino kicks off the action with a string of Ibiza pre-parties with more details to be disclosed soon.
Over 15,000 people attend Movement each year and come from all over the UK, Spain, Germany and the rest of Europe. The festival boasts a cashless payment system, all with a focus on environmentalism, whereby users can benefit from prizes and free credit in return.
Stay peeled for the line-up announcements in the coming weeks; Movement Festival is an essential event in any techno lover’s calendar.
