MPH Channels UK Funky on Saucy Latin-Fueled Bassline Single ‘Fiesta’ on HARD Recs

England’s own low-end mastermind MPH has become a torchbearer for the next wave of UK garage, oscillating between smooth UKG and bombastic bassline-fueled tracks. Making his debut on HARD Recs comes the infectious bassline heater “Fiesta.”

Primed to make crowds go feral around the globe, “Fiesta” is an energetic affair that bridges the gap between bass house and bassline with a spicy twist. Drawing inspiration from UK funky, the track is built around an intoxicating Spanish vocal loop. Simplistic yet sultry, the female voice beckons the listener with each passing beat. Playful and punchy percussion lays the foundation while swaying synths add a sweat-inducing swagger. Militant horn stabs give the track a regal and menacing appeal that slices through. The floor-filling drops offer an immersive call-and-response that intertwines the hypnotic vocals with pulsing basslines and brain-bending sound design flourishes. “Fiesta” lives up to its name, packing a party-ready punch whose sole purpose is to knock dancefloors clean off its feet.

MPH speaks to the creation of the track, saying, “With ‘Fiesta’ I wanted to make a hard-hitting dancefloor weapon. Drawing inspiration from UK funky and bass house with repetitive Spanish vocals to give it that extra bit of spice. This is centred around a new vibe I will be pushing post my recent album, more club-orientated tracks.”

Hailing from Canterbury, MPH is a talented English producer who has been helping to shape the cresting wave of UK garage. His sound shifts fluidly between polished UKG and filthy bassline tracks, equating to an impressive club-fueled discography. He is fresh off the release of his ‘Refraction’ LP, which drew support from BBC Radio 1, Radio 1xtra, and Kiss FM. MPH has become a favorite amongst tastemakers in the scene, drawing support from Four Tet, DJ Seinfeld, Peggy Gou, Disclosure, Fisher, Chris Lorenzo, Skream, and more. He is currently on a run of worldwide tour dates including stops in London, Los Angeles, Ibiza, Milan, Denver, and Las Vegas, and will be closing off the year with a string of dates in Australia.

“Fiesta” is a certified party-starter, combining addictive vocal samples and booming basslines for a deadly dancefloor weapon.
