Mr. Belt & Wezol vs Freejak - Mr. Belt & Wezol vs Freejak – Somebody To Love

Mr. Belt & Wezol are surely on fire this year. Kicking things off with their late 2014 release ‘Time’, followed by the huge club hit ‘Finally’ (which made it to Beatport’s #2 spot for quite a while), the Dutch duo now returns for another blast from the past with a rework of 60s classic ‘Somebody To Love’.

They definitely know their classics. Mr. Belt & Wezol even started their triumphal march with a  remix of Wildchild’s 90s club tune ‘Renegade Master’, which got picked up by house music tastemaker Oliver Heldens. A collab followed, resulting in last year’s Spinnin’ release ‘Pikachu’, peaking at about 1.5 million YouTube views, followed by the highly popular vocal house record ‘Time’, released on Spinnin’ Deep at the verge of 2015.

Hailed as precursors of a fresh wave in house music, Mr. Belt & Wezol continued their  streak of gold with brand new single ‘Finally’, released last April on Spinnin’ Deep, a stunning tribute to the 90s CeCe Peniston dance classic, leaving the vocal lines intact, while the duo added its trademark bass lines and groove.

‘Finally’ spent over a month in the Top 10 of Beatport’s main chart, while it resided on the House Chart #1 spot for 24 days!  Not surprisingly, the DJ support was immense; renowned house heads like Oliver Heldens, Sam Feldt, EDX, Watermät and Mike Mago playing it to bits everywhere.

‘Somebody To Love’
And now, the boys are back in town. Working with upcoming UK producer Freejak, they’ve created another blast from the past, this time revisiting the 60s classic ‘Somebody To Love’ by Jefferson Airplane.

With the lyrics kept intact, the rest of the track has gotten a life of its own, moving straight into club territory, working the floor like a madman. It’s already creating a stir on the Ibiza clubs as well as festivals all over the world, gaining support from DJs like Oliver Heldens, Avicii and The Magician as well as radio plays from guys like Martin Garrix and Nicky Romero.

Looking at earlier successes, ‘Somebody To Love’ seems destined for endless summer fame, a 60s tune reborn in an extraordinary 2015 dance classic.
