Multi-Award Winning UK-Born Songstress LT unleashes ‘Act Your Age’ Single

Fiercely independent UK-born singer-songwriter LT released her latest single ‘Act Your Age’ on the 13th of April via LT Records. The record received early support from NOTION Magazine and follows ‘Rollercoaster’, which gained placements on Spotify Editorial playlists Fresh Finds, Fresh Finds Pop, and Pop Edge and came 1st place in the 2022 Unsigned Only music competition. In the press, LT has been included in The Guardian‘s list of ‘Best New Music’ and received 4 star reviews in The Sydney Morning Herald and supported by renowned magazines like CLASH Magazine, Rolling Stone Australia, Music Feeds, Tonspion, TheMusic.com.au, Atwood Magazine, The Music Network, The Indiependent, The AU Review, and Medium.com / Pop Off to name a few.

On radio, LT was chosen as Producer’s Pick by BBC Introducing in Merseyside and landed air time on BBC Music 6’s Introducing Mixtape with Tom Robinson. In addition, she has received airplay from Australian radio broadcaster ABC’s various radio stations, including triple J, Double J, and triple j Unearthed and was playlisted on Amazing Radio UK.

Born in Ellesmere Port, UK, and now living in Tropical North Queensland in Australia, LT (formerly known as Leanne Tennant), has earned a reputation as one of Queensland’s hardest-working independent artists. She has won three Queensland Music Awards, the Carol Lloyd Award, and landed syncs with British Airways, Channel 7, ABC TV, and more. She has supported the likes of Powderfinger, Missy Higgins, and Ball Park Music all while remaining an entirely independent act. LT is set to play a series of intimate shows in celebration of her new single ‘Act Your Age’ and has more new music on the horizon. Inspired by anything and everything, LT draws upon the rhythmic bounce of Devon Cole, the pop sensibilities of Lily Meola, and audio aesthetics often likened to Goldfrapp or Kimbra. Her own music touches on aspects of MARINA, Sohodolls, and Melanie Martinez.

‘Act Your Age’ is a further glimpse into the sparkling alternative, Indie-Pop sound LT is becoming known for. Having teamed up with two of Australia’s renowned writers, Joel Quartermain (G-Flip) and Edwin White (Vance Joy) she explores themes of Ageism in the music industry and questions societal pressures and expectations.
