Music For Dreams, ‘Best Of’, Volume 4 is an 18-track CD and digital download featuring an inspired selection of electronica and Balearic gems for which Moonboots and the Music For Dreams label are both revered.

Compiled and mixed by Moonboots, this new compilation further showcases the high quality releases on Music For Dreams, and will be released on Friday the 11^th of December 2015.

Moonboots, the nearly mythical DJ from Manchester and champion of all things Balearic, has been making waves on the electronica scene since his emergence in the early nineties. He runs Aficionado Recordings with Jason Boardman and is one of the foremost vinyl crate diggers in DJdom. Inspired by working at Eastern Bloc Record shop in Manchester for 10 years, his first gig was warming up for Dave Haslam at the legendary Hacienda and the rest as they say is DJ history.

Richard Moonboots said ‘Back in 1995 my mate Phil played me a CD called Music for Dreams and it pretty much blew my mind. A perfect compilation of sunset music and my first introduction to the maestro known as Kenneth ‘Kenny’ Bager. Twenty years later we finally meet in person and I found we shared a love of obscure ambient records and fart jokes.

I’m now fortunate enough to be compiling this collection for his label, Music for Dreams. Of all the next-gen Balearic labels, MFD is definitely sitting at the top table. A constant stream of releases covering all bases, from the jazzed out Jex mix of Vision of Panorama to the consistently chunky Bonnie & Klein, the soulful vocals of Mick Roach to the abstract beauty of the Swan & the Lake. I’ve even found time to chuck in an old Mison (Cantoma) track too, the very chap who turned introduced me to Kenny’s sounds all those years ago.’ 

Kenneth Bager is a global torchbearer of Balearic and electronica and the promoter of the Apple Flower Festival as well as the internationally renowned Coma Club in Copenhagen.

Following the success of Music For Dreams ‘Best Of’ Volume 1 compiled by Phil Mison, ‘Best Of’ Volume 2 compiled by Jon Sa Trinxa and ‘Best Of’ Volume 3 compiled by Ravin, ‘Best Of’ Volume 4 compiled by Moonboots explores the evolutionary story of the Danish label and the growing demand for Balearic sounds.
