26th February sees Drag & Drop’s 2017 EP, Natura, receive two scintillating remixes from double act Chris Wood & Meat and America’s Jean Pierre – released via Mar-T’s Wow! Recordings.
Originally starting out as solo DJs, Chris Wood (Christopher Holz) & Meat (aka Carsten Schuchmann) first joined forces in 2009 and haven’t looked backed since, releasing on several revered labels, performing B2B in clubs around the world and even founding their own record label, Freebase Records.
It’s been US DJ/producer Jean Pierre’s productions that have set him apart from his peers, with releases on labels such as Defected, Younan Music, Desolat, Transmit Recordings, Waveform Recordings and Deeperfect Records earning him support from dance kingpins; Marco Carola, The Martinez Brothers, Jamie Jones and many more.
Kicking off the proceedings is Jean Pierre’s Sunnyside rework of ‘Techno Safari’, a pounding-groover that intensifies the original’s distinctive organ bassline loop, as well as adding several atmospheric textures to create a headstrong seven-minute offering that’s readymade for the clubs.
Chris Wood & Meat’s remix of ‘Natura’ closes the EP, transforming the track to a darker, more instrumental-focused sound driven by the scattered effects and a simple yet effective percussion-lead rhythm.
Natura Remixes EP is available exclusively via Beatport on 26th February and everywhere else two weeks later.
