Booka Shade’s ‘Neon Gods’ returns to Knee Deep In Sound this April in the form of two remixes from Rodriguez Jr. and VIVa regular Denney.
Originally released in March, receiving support from the likes of Nicole Moudaber, Pete Tong and featuring as a first play for Annie Mac, Berlin based duo Booka Shade’s ‘Neon Gods’ makes a return to Hot Since 82’s Knee Deep In Sound to undergo remix treatment from French heavyweight Rodriguez Jr. and bubbling UK producer Denney. Following releases on VIVa, Mobilee and Gruuv between the pair in the last 12 months alone, the two producers make their label debut’s to provide their take on Booka Shade’s stellar original.
First up, France’s Rodriguez Jr.’s remix combines a collection of deep, driving tones, vibrant pads and sweeping atmospherics with a series of crisp and distorted vocals throughout to provide an intricate and dynamic alternative.
Secondly, utilising the originals arpeggio hooks, Denney’s version offers an arrangement of skipping percussion licks over the production’s snaking melodies, whilst the original’s driving sub bass is stripped back to reveal an enhanced focus on Matsiko’s infectious vocals.
Booka Shade ‘Neon Gods Remixes’ is out on Knee Deep In Sound on 29th April 2016.
