New Additions For Flow Festival Helsinki

Flow Festival Helsinki is delighted to announced that transcendent cultural icon ANOHNI will be bringing her hugely anticipated Hopelessness project to the Finnish capital this August.

ANOHNI, the lead singer and songwriter from Antony and the Johnsons has collaborated with Oneohtrix Point Never and Hudson Mohawke on the artist’s latest work. Her album Hopelessness is set to an electronic dance soundtrack with soulful vocals and direct lyrics addressing surveillance, drone warfare, and ecocide. Hopelessness is a departure from the singer’s recent symphonic collaborations. The album seeks to disrupt assumptions about popular music by embedding vigorously political lyrics within dance/pop tracks. Hopelessness will be out on May 6th 2016, with Anohni describing the new project as ‘an electronic record with some sharp teeth’.

Joining ANOHNI announced today is vocal punk purveyors Savages fresh from their universally acclaimed second album “Adore Life” that has seen them fill venues around the globe, the next great global pop superstar Dua Lipa bringing a delectably dark metropolitan sound to Helsinki’s streets and Finnish chart toppers Ruger Hauer teaming up with electro-pop gurus Regina.

They make up even more spectacular music names taking to the stage at Flow Festival Helsinki this year with previously announced names including Sia, Massive Attack + Young Fathers, New Order, Iggy Pop, The Last Shadow Puppets, M83, Chvrches, Four Tet, Jamie XX, Stormzy, Daughter and many more.

With a high-quality and revered lineup of musical heavyweights and a plethora of diverse culture and creativity, Flow Festival Helsinki is set to be the defining European festival of the summer.

One of the planet’s most forward thinking festivals, Flow combines music, art, culture, culinary excellence and sustainability. The festival has an outstanding reputation for presenting some of the globe’s most pioneering artists in a jaw dropping, industrial space in Helsinki, Europe’s capital of cool.
