The long-awaited album by Birmingham’s top Jazz, Soul, Afro-Funk band ‘Funk Division’ will be out this summer. It consists of thirteen blazing tracks designed to keep your feet on the floor and your hips swinging out of control. The rhythms are contagious, the drums; super heavy and the vocals are spectacular with 2 songs in the native Zimbabwean tongue. Most of the songs were written by Mark Anthony with one written by the late Joyce Sims. The production skills of Mark Anthony and Derek King is faultless, polished and dancefloor ready. It’s been decades since we heard anything like this come out of Birmingham and it’s a wonder why there’s so much buzz about this album.
