‘New Jack House Vol.1’: Wilza’s Tribute to Nostalgia with a Dancefloor-Ready Sound

Wilza, the Producer and DJ bringing New Jack Swing into the Electronic Music space, unveils his brand-new EP, ‘New Jack House Vol.1’ via his label SwingBeat Records.

Having established a distinct signature sound, seeking to reimagine the sounds of the late 80s and 90s, Wilza aims to offer music that feels both nostalgic yet fresh, integrating the influence of R&B, Hip Hop, and Funk that the New Jack Swing genre is known for. As he leans on the modernity of Electronic Music to ensure he develops a style that fans can resonate with, putting forward dancefloor-ready grooves and melodic textures, Wilza continues to appear as a versatile Producer on the scene, now offering further insight into his artistry with this new project.

When speaking about the release and his desire to find a place for New Jack Swing within Electronic Music, Wilza mentions:

“There’s a magic to New Jack Swing that I feel has been slept on. While many genres have been reinvented in Electronic Music, this one hasn’t had its moment in the spotlight. ‘New Jack House Vol. 1’ is my way of bringing these classics back into the conversation—nostalgic yet redefined for today’s audience.”

The EP, comprised of four tracks, epitomises Wilza’s artistic direction. Bringing detailed soundscapes driven by infectious rhythms and funky basslines, blended with his innovative production approach, ‘New Jack House Vol.1’ delivers an engaging sonic journey for listeners, all while placing Wilza’s deep-rooted influences on full display.

Opening with ‘Body,’ the track sets the high-energy tone of the project, building into a vibrant arrangement of classic vocal chops, grooving House beats, hypnotising synth layers, and bouncy low-end. Then, as the EP unfolds, listeners are introduced to ‘Call Me,’ a soulful production detailed with exciting risers, catchy basslines, and funky melodic horn motifs. As the sonic journey leads through to ‘U Know It Ain’t Cool,’ Wilza makes sure to keep the momentum high, delivering a track poised for dancefloors with its steady kick, percussive details, prominent bass, and powerful drop, continuing to build the party-starter vibes with the closing track, ‘What You See:’ a fresh and dynamic take on the well-known New Jack Swing, Bobby Brown original, ‘Don’t Be Cruel.’

As he channels the energy of the New Jack Swing genre throughout the EP, fusing the past and present with skill and creativity, Wilza has once more ensured he delivers something unique to both long-time genre lovers and new listeners alike.

So, a reflection of his signature approach, discover the sonic vibrancy of Wilza’s creative world by listening to his new EP, ‘New Jack House Vol.1’ today, out now via SwingBeat Records and available to stream and download across platforms.
