New York City hailing BTJMN begins his London journey with storming new single ‘Talk About It’

Hailing from a bustling Manhattan, now London-based producer and songwriter BTJMN is well-versed in the art of juggling unique talents. Armed with a modern take on a traditional hip-hop break beat, and his signature crisp vocal production, BTJMN moves into the spotlight with his first single of the year ‘Talk About it’.

Following the release of 2022 single ‘Gwen Stacy’, it’s clear the emerging producer recognizes his unique talent for communicating relatable experiences. He draws inspiration from the likes of Blackbear, Mike Posner and Jon Bellion and praises them for their prioritisation of melody and catchy production cuts.

From working as an international DJ and sound engineer, to now excitedly releasing his fourth studio single, BTJMN has developed his craft to become a truly conceptual artist. In “Talk About It’ he envisioned a driving breakbeat supporting a crisp topline to create a pure, unadulterated, sonic experience. Layering organic and spacious instrumentation around the driving rhythm section, the rising beatmaker has created a sound reminiscent of old school NYC hip-hop, while catapulting it into the future.

His latest offering is decorated with the vocal of Anna De Ferren as well as his own, and is co-written with artist Cassidy Reiff. BTJMN recognizes the sonic complexity and depth that collaboration brings, his sound continues to evolve. Harnessing true encounters and emotions is second nature to the songsmith, as he invites listeners into his headspace while contemplating love in a social media landscape. In ‘Talk About It’ BTJMN examines miscommunication in an era of digital connection with his lyrics.

Speaking of the track, BTJMN said:

“Miscommunication in an era where we are all connected all the time, and have such crazy access to each other’s lives, is really interesting – that’s what I wanted to write about. It can be toxic when we make relationship decisions based on texting strategy, online signals, and Instagram stories. It can be difficult for our generation to connect for real, that’s what I was trying to look at with ‘Talk About It’”.
