Next Wave Announce 2014 Ibiza Plans

Next Wave Announce 2014 Ibiza Plans
Sankeys, Ibiza.

‘No philosophy, just music’ is the motto of Next Wave, one of Ibiza’s prime underground promotions and one of few parties to hit the White Isle in 2014 that will have the one and only Ricardo Villalobos in tow.

Ready to make its mark once more with some choice parties at Sankeys, Next Wave, which is famed for booking true vinyl DJs and close friends and has a great community and family feel as a result, is now unveiling its summer plans, and boy are they impressive. As ever the sonic remit is closely focuses on minimal and techno and features some of the genre’s most celebrated champions.

Say the Next Wave team… “We try to promote our nights mostly with sound as this is the point of the night. The whole night is based on friendship, we book friends to play, and we rarely add new names.”

Sankeys Ibiza owner David Vincent adds…”Since both parties agreed to work together this summer, we have been working on this new concept for the past 6 months. We are very proud to announce this magical collaboration together and want to welcome the Next Wave family with open arms this summer. When Sankeys Ibiza opened in 2011 we have always talked about joining forces and now the time is right for both parties. Sankeys obviously has a big amount of respect for the music and artists Next Wave represents and to be able to have some of our heroes like Ricardo Villalobos and RPR play is just simply amazing. I’m really excited to hear them play in the Sankeys LAB this summer and looking forward to providing Next Wave with the perfect environment to demonstrate their musical wizardry”.

In 2014 Next Wave has five extra special events planned, three of which are in association with London label and party, Fuse on 29th July and then 12th and 26th August, and all of which take place at the island’s fastest growing nightclub.

This year the Next Wave kicks off on July 29th with a party featuring minimal pioneer and DJ extraordinaire Ricardo Villalobos – who is hardly playing anywhere on the island this summer – and Romanian talent Raresh. On August 12th it’s another set of impressive Romanian talents, Rhadoo, Praslea and Cezar who headline, then on the 26th August Rhadoo returns again along with Petre Inspirescu. On September 17th Praslesh and Onur Ozur are the revered guests and to end it all in style the Sei Es Drum and Perlon master Ricardo Villalobos plays one last time with RPR Soundsystem.

As well as this you can also catch Next Wave taking over around Europe at places like Pag in Croatia for Sonus Festival, as well as at clubs in London, Moscow and Ukraine and Germany.
