Ki Creighton returns to Kaluki Musik roster this July with ‘Night Owl’, backed with remixes from Secondcity and Jansons.
After a string of releases on various labels such as Leftwing & Kody’s Lost Records, Elrow Music, Riva Starr’s Snatch! Records, and an album through Under No Illusion, Ki Creighton now returns to Kaluki Musik following his ‘Time Machine’ EP at the beginning of the year and recent EP’s from DJ Sneak, Pirate Copy and more on the label.
The ‘Original Vocal Mix’ of ‘Night Owl’ leads on the package with bright piano chords, warm string melodies, swinging drums and Shyam P’s soulful vocal stylings before the ‘Original Mix’ follows, putting the focus solely on the contemporary take on a classic house sound found within the melodic elements.
Secondcity steps up next on remix duties, twisting the original into a percussive fuelled workout with an organic drum groove, snaking bass line and snippets of the original vocal wandering throughout. Jansons’ remix then closes the package with loosely rolling, natural drum sounds smoothly running alongside filtered loops of the original strings, chords and vocal.
Ki Creighton feat. Shyam P’s ‘Night Owl’ is out on Kaluki Musik 13th July 2018.
