Booka Shade - Night Surfing / Future Primitives

Germany’s Booka Shade kick start 2018 with ‘Night Surfing / Future Primitives’ this February.

Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier aka Booka Shade have carved out quite the career over the past two decades via their Get Physical imprint launched alongside M.A.N.D.Y and DJ T. which showcased the pairs deft production abilities and gained them a global following. Fast forward to 2018 and the pair are developing their Blaufield imprint and touring their live show across all corners the globe, still driven by their passion for melodious, euphoric and powerful electronic music.

‘Night Surfing’ takes the lead on the release and sees Booka Shade employ an amalgamation of dynamic analogue synth strings, bubbling arpeggios and tension building atmospherics alongside shuffled percussion and heady bass tones to create a raw and emotive dance floor cut with a nod to the Balearic sound.

‘Future Primites’ follows and tips the focus over to hooky bell like synth chimes, spiraling bass leads and choppy bass hits which ebb and flow around soaring vocal murmurs and direct 4/4 rhythms to further fuel the infectious groove.

Booka Shade’s ‘Night Surfing / Future Primitives’ is out on Blaufield 2nd February 2018.

*The band go on the road in the Spring with a two week Australian tour, followed by shows in Barcelona, Sonar Istanbul and the legendary O2 Academy Brixton in London.
