Zulu Records unveil their first release of 2018
To kick the new year off in style, Zulu Records have recruited a fresh face to take on 2018. Debuting on the underground house imprint for the first time, Italian-based producer and DJ Gaab brings his sound to the table, as Zuluregular No Requests takes on the remixing responsibilities. After releasing onJango Music, White Cat and Silent Breeze, Gaab is quickly securing his place well within the up and coming circuit as he masters the crux of his signature house style. A perfect match for Brighton-based Zulu Records who celebrated 5 years in the game last year, this one has already picked up plays and support from Judge Jules, Benny Camaro and Plastik Funk, and it’s easy to hear why.
Hypnotising melodies and a euphoric vocal hook make ‘Night Time’ the perfect remedy for the January blues. Chilled deep house vibes throughout with simple bass patterns and an Ibiza-worthy percussion section bring the spiritual tone of the record to life. Gaab shows off his production skills in this main room banger, what a way to start the year.
On the remix No Requests strips back the vocals and turns the bass up a notch. Delving into tech-house territory, this is the perfect end to the package. Controlled chaos in every drop, driving back-beats and a hands-in-the-air feel throughout, this is definitely one for the after parties.
Starting as they mean to go on, Zulu get their hands on another big release – 2018 has officially begun.
