nikko Celebrates Early Rave Culture With Bass-Heavy, Genre-Blurring Two-Tracker ‘RED RAVE’ on NIGHTMODE

North Arizona’s rising powerhouse nikko is back on NIGHTMODE with ‘RED RAVE,’ a two-track adrenaline rush built for the underground and mainstage alike. Channeling the raw energy of early rave culture, he sharpens his sound with next-gen production built to shake dancefloors.

Setting the tone for the double-pronged EP, “DONT PLAYY” kicks into overdrive, slamming speed house into a whirlwind of searing synths, rapid-fire percussion, and an earworm vocal hook designed to drill into memory. It’s crafted to push energy levels past their limit—a sonic flashback to the lawless nights of early rave, where time dissolves and the music never stops. 

“This song, to me, is an exciting collision of all of my inspirations poured into one track. It’s high energy, dancey, and the vocal hook is a total earworm. I knew it needed to take center stage as Track A of this project.”

On the flipside, “SIDE2SIDE” is a peak-time bass house weapon built for pure dancefloor mayhem. Classic house vocal loops and hazy crowd chatter set the scene, while rolling grooves, wailing sirens, and razor-sharp fills push the tension to a breaking point. Detuned jazz chords stir nostalgia before the track detonates into a full-blown rave eruption. 

“‘SIDE2SIDE’ is an ode to my upbringing, drawing major inspiration from early house music. I wanted to put the listener right in the middle of a wild party, letting my modern production techniques push classic sounds to their limits.”
