Mihalis Safras - Nintza EP

September sees Greek DJ-producer Mihalis Safras arrive on Lee Foss’ Repopulate Mars imprint with a three tracker entitled ‘Nintza’.

With releases on the likes of Cajual, Saved and Truesoul, it’s indisputable that Mihalis Safras is on fine form. The Material label boss’s next appearance sees him debut on Repopulate Mars, the imprint Lee Foss launched earlier this year that has so far hosted names such as MK, Sonny Fodera, Patrick Topping, Felix Da Housecat, Justin Jay, James Curd & Diz and Andre Salmon.

A high-octane affair throughout, the release sets the tone with the energetic ‘Nintza’ and its thunderous bass and low-slung groove before sonic bleeps and drones heighten its dark atmosphere. ‘Grey’ then adopts the same shadowy aesthetic using gloomy bass hums and breathy chopped vocals that echo alongside looming arpeggios, before ‘Hey Grey’ rounds off the package with a heavy composition of rhythmic claps and jumbled glitch sequences.
