Loosewomen - Nobody / Slides

After Kollaps’ dream-like sound graced the debut from emerging label imprint Grade 10 this May, the collective present their second offering from old-school purist Loosewomen. GTI002 ’Nobody / Slides’ comes as a nostalgic vinyl-only release comprised of two blissful Balearic numbers that revisit the very foundations of house, whilst creatively merging with modern day inspirations. Lending itself to the hedonistic sound of the late eighties and early nineties, ‘Nobody / Slides’ is the soundtrack for sweltering, sunshine days and hazy summer mornings.

Landing this August 10th 2015, A-Side ‘Nobody’ is a soulful groove built from a chuggy, percussive base and sassy female vocal, begging you to leave your responsibilities at the door and let yourself loose. From the pumping, dubby texture through to the catchy melody, ‘Nobody’ is an infectious track packed with feel-good vibrations from start to finish. On the flip the sensual ‘Slides’ takes the tempo down for a euphoric escape, reminiscent of the chill out flavours of days gone by. Ambient soundscapes and a deep percussive heartbeat roll across five minutes of pure indulgence to create a striking piece of music that connects mind, body and soul. Striking a balance against the care-free sentiment of ‘Nobody,’ ‘Slides’ is a moodier masterpiece with an earthy undercurrent.

Focussing on experimental collaborations between members, Loosewomen reconnects the darker side of Grade 10 on the remix, as collective counterpart Classic Coke steps  in with a hi-energy, footwork remix of A Side ‘Nobody.’ Putting a raw, industrial spin on the original, Classic Coke’s remix represent for the bassier side of the crew.

With a visionary approach to production, LooseWomen’s signature sound is moulded from a palette of influences that span classic cult genres from rave and hardcore to house and techno. Having previously been producing under another moniker pre-Grade 10, this inaugural LooseWomen release shows an intent to experiment in a way the producer has not done before.

Presenting an uncompromising vision for the future of electronic music, GTI002 is the second in a series from the enigmatic Grade 10 collective, a recently mobilised imprint quickly cementing its place as one of the most exciting prospects in underground music. Made up of previous members of the Cult Music label, the group are now operating with a refreshed line up and new name. The eight members include Classic Coke, ForeverForever, 8Ball, Kollaps, LooseWomen, Nokia Boys,  Prayer and Unslaved. For more info head to grade10.uk
