Norwegian based artist Jerry Folk unleashes ‘Intertwined’

Oslo-based electronic music phenom Jerry Folk shared his single ‘Intertwined’ featuring Bearson and FENGSEL on 18 October via Folkestad Records. The track premiered on This Song Is Sick, and serves as the first single from his forthcoming album. Renowned for his dynamism and unrivaled artistic vision, Jerry Folk has remixed the likes of Billie Eilish, Oh Wonder and Charlie Puth, while he’s produced for acclaimed artists such as Alina Baraz, Axwell Ingrosso and Lemaitre. Additionally, he has opened for Odesza, performed at Coachella and the Mixmag Lab twice, while he’s toured the US numerous times. Jerry Folk currently boasts over 400 million plays across streaming platforms, and his debut album Dotted Red, along with his side project FENGSEL received a Norwegian Grammy nomination. 

His work has earned praise from prominent publications such as Mixmag, COMPLEX, Highsnobiety, This Song Is Sick, Magnetic Magazine, CLASH Mag, and Kaltblut Mag to name but a few. The title-track of his recently released EP Heart, received national airplay on BBC Music 6‘s New Music Fix with Tom Ravenscroft & Deb Grant, RTÉ 2FM, Triple J’s The Nudge with Latifa Tee, KCRW’s SiLVA and KCRW’s Eclectic 24, as well as KEXP Radio. 

Not bound by the confines of genres, Jerry Folk does not shy away from change, and instead embraces it with his ever-evolving sound and discography. In light of this, each of his releases hold the essence of innovation and indisputable valor. Drawing inspiration from electronic music luminaries such as James Blake, Sevdaliza, SBTRKT and Kaytranada, he’s crafted a career that’s fuelled with intention and endearment. His latest offering is sure to ensnare fans of the music of Toro y Moi, Mk.gee and M83. 

‘Intertwined’ sees the artist take inspiration from luscious 80’s soundscapes. It’s a mammoth offering that has an unshakeable cinematic feel, creating a full body experience. The track pulls the listener in with its poignant cascades of larger than life reverbs, tough drum work and sensational use of synths, while radiating an atmosphere of unpredictability, excitement and transformation.
