Worship Recordings readies its first release of 2018 in the form of rumbling house single ‘Number One’ from label owner Rob Paine and New Jersey native Tanner Ross.
Established by Paine in Philadelphia back in 1998, Worship Recordings was originally a platform for his own productions before releasing music from the likes of Gary Beck, Pete Moss, Grant Dell and Chris Udoh – quickly becoming a key label advocating ‘dub house’.
As a producer Paine has also made appearances on Leftroom, Shaboom and Large Recordings, but he’s also a key player in his city’s dance music scene having organised parties featuring names like Anja Schneider, Mike Servito and Kyle Hall, not to mention celebrated local heroes Josh Wink and King Britt. Having met at a warehouse event a little over three years ago, Paine and Freerange producer Tanner Ross quickly hit it off leading to this collaboration blending their distinct styles together.
Twisted percussion lays the foundation for ‘Number One’ as Ninjaman’s echoing vocals join rumbling brass and effervescent synths to generate a dancefloor shaking cut. The track also comes with a dub and a stripped back instrumental version.
Tanner Ross & Rob Paine ‘Number One’ drops via Worship Recordings on 26th March 2018.
