Odd Mob and OMNOM Team Up on Hypnotic Peak-Time Collab “Mind Awake, Body Asleep” on Insomniac Records

Odd Mob and OMNOM link up on their latest crowd-pleasing collab taking the shape of “Mind Awake, Body Asleep,” serving as the production pair’s highly anticipated single on Insomniac Records

Following a string of sensational joint releases, Brisbane-based Odd Mob and LA native OMNOM keep the momentum surging to critical mass as they come together to conjure up another certified weapon. A kaleidoscopic lucid dream, their newest offering “Mind Awake, Body Asleep” has all the right ingredients to stimulate the senses beyond belief. Pinned to a pulse-racing spoken word vocal—a looped recitation of the mantra in its title—the track plays out like an out-of-body experience fueled by clattering synth plucks, rumbling sub-bass, dark arpeggiations, glitchy stabs, rolling basslines and techno-leaning percussive patterns.

The track arrives in the wake of their recent “Losing Control” single issued on John Summit’s label, rapidly approaching 4 million streams, in addition to claiming the #1 spot on Beatport’s ‘Overall Top 100’ chart. It has been making the rounds with festival plays already secured from Dom Dolla and FISHER, and is poised to be a high point when Odd Mob and OMNOM share the stage as support for John Summit at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.

Harry Hope is the one pulling the strings behind the Odd Mob moniker, breaking out on the back of his international hit “LEFT TO RIGHT,” a joint release issued on Insomniac Records and Australian imprint Tinted. The dancefloor virality of the track led to a run of dates around his home country in Australia, and eventually parlayed into a slew of North American dates, including stops at EDC Las Vegas, Academy LA, Nova San Diego, Soundcheck in Washington D.C, and major cities sprawled across the States. He followed up the effort with his sophomore single on the Insomniac label, arriving in the form of “Been Dreaming” under his GD Vandal alias.

OMNOM is the brainchild of Los Angeles native Cody Lee, who has been tapping into his larger-than-life personality to give birth to house tracks that are unabashedly eccentric and attention-grabbing. He originally let his strangeness shine on the Insomniac Records catalog way back in 2017, with his wonky “Methane” collab alongside Zendlo. A few years later, he touched base on the label to peel back the layers once more with “Skin,” a late-night spurt of quirky rhythms made in-cahoots with VNSSA. Along the way, he’s earned the stamp of approval from tastemakers such as FISHER, Walker & Royce, Kyle Watson, Wax Motif, Justin Martin, Malaa, and more.

In addition to their booming solo trajectories, the two groove technicians have demonstrated their chemistry on a string of collabs including “Strut” with house music royalty Roland Clark, their buzzing follow-up “Bees,” and the chart-toppling “Losing Control.Odd Mob and OMNOM are now keeping the hype ever-beaming as they release their adrenaline-laced offering “Mind Awake, Body Asleep.”
