In anticipation of the release of DAZE’s 2018 EP titled “Elevations”, the rising French producer has just released “Oh!” ft. Fanny on internationally renowned label, Sony France. Channeling soothing summer vibes in the midst of winter, the track fuses mellow electro pop elements with Fanny’s fluid vocals. It serves as a perfect precedent for understanding what DAZE all about: positivity, energy, and funk.
Straight out of Rouen, France, the young producer found his love for electronic music as a kid. Initially captivated by NYC’s underground funk scene, DAZE drew most of his inspiration from funk legends such as Cameo and Zapp & Roger. After getting his hands on vintage synthesizers, vocoders, and talkboxes, he decided to incorporate traditional funk elements in his own modern dance pop productions. His 2016 EP “Variations” received an award from Inrock Lab, a musical discovery platform that aims to showcase the most noteworthy new music in France. The hit track of the EP, “Show Me Again”, racked up 2.4 million streams and stayed in the iTunes top 10 Electronic Music list for three weeks straight, a remarkable accomplishment for a rising producer.
