After a three-year break, Older Future steps back into the frame with new single ‘Mitch’, a rich, emotionally-charged cut lifted from his upcoming album.
Rooted in the pulse of drum machines and rolling basslines, ‘Mitch’ weaves a blend of futuristic sound design with a nostalgic edge. Modulated synths ripple through the mix, pulling the listener into an otherworldly atmosphere that leans between electronica, leftfield house and cinematic EDM.
Written around the blurred lines between childhood dreams and modern life, Older Future explains: “At the heart of the album is this first single – I wanted to capture the innocence of childhood dreams, inspired from when I used to watch Baywatch as a kid. Those idealised visions of sunlit beaches, heroism, and perfection slowly unravel as the nine-to-five kicks in… the track encapsulates that subtle heartbreak of growing up and seeing through the illusions we once held onto so tightly.”
Behind the moniker is engineer and synth designer Alon Yaish, whose blend of rave influences and classical piano training feeds into his layered production style. Following his breakout track ‘Shame’, which nears half a million streams, Older Future looks ahead to a new chapter; with ‘Mitch’, he invites listeners back into his immersive sonic world.
