When Chicago’s Dani Deahl visited LA last month to DJ with Lil Jon, she took a side trip to visit JayCeeOh’s studio, bringing with the start of a twerk version of Oliver Heldens and Becky Hill’s “Gecko (Overdrive).” JayCeeOh loved the concept and over the next week the pair collabed, knocking out the bass-driven interpretation of Heldens’ current UK #1 hit. The result is packed full of booming 808s, a re-interpretation of the melody and warm, stirring breakdowns featuring the vocal.
