Olivver The Kid – I want it
Dubbed “the LA King of Revival” by Mostly Junk Food, Bryan Sammis, otherwise known as Olivver the Kid, is quickly living up to the nickname after deciding to leave his band The Neighbourhood and venture out on his own. “With an ear for infectious hooks and nostalgia,” The Kid is brimming with excitement about the release of his latest single, “I Want It.” And, you should be too.
“I Want It” is the first ever release from Taste and Tone, a new singles label that plans to release one song every month until, as they put it, “A) Armageddon B) We reenact Thelma and Louise in real life.” The song will be made available on March 17 during the South by Southwest Festival, where Olivver The Kid will be playing. Should you happen to be at SWSW, catch Olivver at Vulcan Gas Company (3:50pm) or at Maggie Mae’s Gibson Room (11:00pm) on Friday, March 20.
Additionally, Olivver the Kid is currently on The American Youth Tour, a sold-out, that began in California, ends in Massachusetts and criss-crosses the country along the way. The tour features Olivver, as well as pop sensations, Young Rising Sons and Halsey.
At each show on tour, Olivver the Kid is doing a special meet and greet exclusively for his fans.
Perhaps Olivver the Kid is still feeling a little rambunctious over the success of his debut EP, Freak, which came out last October to rave reviews. “Freak is downright irresistible,” affirms The 405, “with its shimmering synths and melodies that will get stuck in your head for days, and paired with his wind-swept, gorgeous vocals gives you a track that sounds like it’s best fit to soundtrack a John Hughes film.”
