Until The Ribbon Breaks - One Match

Until The Ribbon Breaks dropped another powerful track titled “One Match,” taken from their forthcoming, self-titled full-length album due out February 23. This time, the British duo reveals a darker side to the spectrum, drawing from lead man, lyricist and producer Pete Lawrie-Winfield’s days during his active alcohol addiction. He explains: “it was a reality check, a cry for help and a personal account of the very worst moments in a long period of addiction and substance abuse. I always knew that one day I would have to get clean, I just had no idea how. This is a diary entry from the middle of that mess.” “One Match” is available worldwide from today.

Since the announcement of their highly anticipated sophomore release, Until The Ribbon Breaks has received overwhelming support from fans and critics all over the world, with their last two releases “Here Comes The Feeling” and “My Love” garnering support from the likes of NPR, KEXP, KCRW’s Jason Bentley and Morning Becomes Eclectic, Jason Kramer (who premiered the track in December), and even Taylor Swift who unexpectedly included “My Love” in her Favorite Songs Apple Playlist last month.

“One Match,” “Here Comes The Feeling” and “My Love” are out worldwide now and the highly anticipated forthcoming sophomore album will be released in February, 23 2018. Each song was born out of Pete’s inspiring journey from rock bottom to recovery, as he details his recent transformation in a heartfelt letter to his fans.

Since the band’s inception in 2013, they’ve released a critically acclaimed debut album “A Lesson Unlearnt” which peaked at Number 23 in the U.S Billboard charts and features special guests Run The Jewels and Homeboy Sandman. The 11-track debut was critically praised by the likes of Pitchfork, NPR, FADER, The Wall Street Journal, SPIN Magazine and many more, and prompted the band to be invited on the road as direct support for Lorde, London Grammarand Phantogram in 2014/15. The Welsh duo are also known and loved for their wildly popular audio and video re-imaginations for The Weeknd’s “Wicked Games”, Sam Smith’s “Nirvana,” Lorde’s “Royals”,Tegan and Sara’s “Closer” and Phantogram’s “Fall In Love.”

Fans can now also buy original artwork by Pete, handwritten lyrics and signed vinyl via Until The Ribbon Breaks' Pledge page. Speaking of this unique opportunity to provide fans something beyond the music, Pete and Elliot explained: "It has always been in our nature as a band to try and expand the boundaries of our own little world and doing so, hopefully create one of our own. From our inception, our name was intended to invoke the idea of expansion and movement. We are always looking for new ways to create and new platforms to do it on. Whether it be one of a kind paintings, photography, music or clothing Pledge is an ideal way to share with you some of the things that we have dreamt up. Our relationship with our fans has always been incredibly important to us, our social media pages have become platforms for discussion and debate on a wide range of topics and we are proud to have brought so many amazing, like minded people together. Through Pledge, we hope we can carry on the conversation, we hope to bring people further into our process and into our world, closing the gap – making, talking, sharing. Until The Ribbon Breaks.”
