This February will see Waifs & Strays and Itchy Rich’s Lovecrimes imprint welcome London’s Adam Curtain onto it’s roster with ‘One Track Mind’, featuring an Alex Arnout remix.
Following releases on The Classic Music Company, Leftroom and Danse Club as well as the launch of his very own Trouble Maker label, Adam Curtain is rapidly becoming a name worthy of your attention for the foreseeable future. Curtain delivers a hybrid of old school bumping house with a contemporary flair of Tech House to create something that’s intriguing and always aimed squarely at the dance floor.
Taking the lead here is the original mix of title-cut ‘One Track Mind’ which sees Adam paired with vocalist Gloria Adereti and producer Jack Riley to create a hypnotic slice of house fuelled by bumpy 909 rhythms, warm chord sequences and Gloria smooth and mesmeric vocal stylings. Dogmatik’s Alex Arnout reworks ‘One Track Mind’ to follow, delivering a more groove-led interpretation with swirling delays placed on the original chord hits, robust drums and snippets of Adereti’s vocals carrying the composition throughout its seven-minute duration.
‘Clunk A Trunk’ follows next and sees Curtain fly solo via stripped-back drums, a snaking sub bass hook and frenzied processed vocal hits before ‘OD3’ rounds out the package with resonant synth blips and sweeping atmospheric wandering around square wave bass hits, acid licks, skippy drums and sultry vocal samples.
Adam Curtain’s ‘One Track Mind’ EP is out on Lovecrimes 3rd February 2017.
