ONYVAA delivers distilled techno on new EP Valley Of Fire

Rising star ONYVAA is back with a techno tour de force on her new EP Valley Of Fire, out via Charlotte de Witte / KNTXT’s sub-label RPM on 14th April.

Valley Of Fire is an exhibit of the power in ONYVAA’s less-is-more approach. ‘Don’t Ever Stop’ kicks the EP into gear with lean uptempo techno, before ‘Valley Of Fire’ takes an even more spare and meticulous approach with arpeggiated synth over a brooding breakbeat. Finally, the  trance-like ‘Vision Quest’ closes the EP in style, with subtle handclaps and a hypnotic vocal sample over a spacey, ambient percussion arrangement.

Commenting on the EP, ONYVAA says: “I’ve had transformative experiences over the last two years where I have grown and evolved in my being, where my eyes, mind, and heart are open to infinite forms of expression through music. This EP embodies those themes and is the beginning of a new chapter in my artistry.”

Charlotte de Witte adds: Very proud to announce the long awaited return from ONYVAA! After her Lost Angeles EP in 2021, she’s been a very frequent guest at KNTXT events all over the world. She’s a beautiful person inside and out and I couldn’t be more happy with the three bangers she provided in her signature style for her new EP on the label. Welcome back, Shelbs!”

ONYVAA is a multifaceted music talent who has been taking the electronic music scene by storm. She developed her sound in Paris and quickly ascended the global techno circuit, performing at KNTXT events all over the world. ONYVAA’s sets are an energetic journey, influenced by the timeless sounds of Detroit, Chicago, and early 90s acid warehouse techno.

Belgian techno heavyweight Charlotte de Witte launched a new sub-label, RPM, late last year through her flagship KNTXT imprint to inspire and build velocity around emerging talent. To meet the demand of the ever-evolving electronic music scene and increase the creative output of the KNTXT label, RPM provides artists with a more agile, digital-only platform to release music – offering a flexible environment for producers to experiment with contemporary sounds, free from the latency in vinyl production.

When it comes to contemporary, experimental sounds, there are few better fits for the RPM roster than ONYVAA. For fans of pure, unfiltered techno, Valley Of Fire is the perfect tonic.
