Öwnboss & Selva make a ‘RIOT’ on Monstercat

Brazilian DJ and producer Öwnboss and respected songwriter Selva team up on new single ‘RIOT‘, bringing a new meaning to the word anthem. Released via Monstercat, one of electronic music’s most influential independent record labels, the new single is set to wow dancefloor loyalists in addition to fans of the sport-based video game Rocket League, where it will debut in battle arenas.

 

‘RIOT’ will run havoc on the airwaves of Rocket League Radio, the in-game station that curates the soundtrack for Rocket League’s 6.4 million average daily users. Exclusively from 26^th August onward, ‘RIOT’ will become the track played every time a player fires up the game.

 

In the hands of Brazilian talents Öwnboss and Selva, ‘RIOT’ is as powerful as it sounds. Inspired by the strong-wild enthusiasm of youth, the collaborating duo called upon the music students of Selva’s former São Paulo school to take the recording to the next level. In the commanding chorus, the children’s voices chant, “We are made of fire, shout out, start a riot”, with fierce defiance and the kind of passionate tribal energy that a professional vocalist could take decades to perfect.

Paired with Öwnboss’ signature bass house groove, industrial synths, and Selva’s unifying songwriting style and own vocal interjection, ‘RIOT’ is a dancefloor bomb headed straight for the main stage.

 

The release comes during Öwnboss’ busiest summer yet as his 2023 World Tour smashes the halfway point. Tomorrowland Mainstage, Nature One Festival and famed Ibiza beach club Ushuaïa are just a few of the party hotspots on which the ‘Move Your Body’ hitmaker has dropped in. Not to mention kicking off the summer season with an official remix of Armin van Burren x The Stickmen Project’s ‘No Fun.’ Öwnboss’ momentum as one of the fastest-rising bass house DJs on the planet shows no signs of slowing down.

 

Selva, otherwise known as Brian Cohen, is a platinum-certified songwriter, producer and vocalist who has worked with huge names in the electronic circuit and is quickly becoming a go-to force in the industry for anthemic dance hits.
