Pablo del Monte - Pablo del Monte – Feel Feeling
Pablo del Monte returns to release on his own East Recordings once more with the punchy new EP ‘Feel Feeling’. The newly established label has risen from the success of Pablo’s London based internet radio station and blog phenomenon Brick Lane Radio. East Recordings have already created movements with their first two releases, both of which were equally powerful offerings that grabbed the attention of artists such as Maceo Plex, Steve Lawler and Danny Tenaglia.
It’s obvious that this EP has allowed Pablo to invest his time and knowledge into tailoring and harnessing his production style for straight to the dancefloor hits. From driving bass-lines to rolling spacey hi-hats and saturated snares, each track on the record has it’s own identity, but manages not to stray too far from the trademark ‘dance-floor movement’ sound Pablo has managed to craft.
‘Feel Feeling’ is a deep affair with chopped up, eery vocals and a bossy, straight forward bass line. All this gradually builds up until an acidic style lead kicks through alongside a powerful drop. The DJ-Vox remix is a little tech-ier than the original with the addition of swirling hats, a catchy looping hook and the use of a vocoder to create a darker and edgier atmosphere.
‘Glib Girl’ by its nature has pushed Pablo to be a little more experimental. With a broken, skippy beat that’s perfectly matched with a house organ bass line, it’s bound to make any crowd feel attached after the first 16bars with it’s undeniable charm. Finally, ‘Love Tunnel’ is a truly charismatic track. Featuring a driving sub with a cheeky acid bass line and lots of pushed-back-in-the-mix chord stabs and formant vocals, it ends the EP in fine fashion without losing any energy the record has given to the listener.
