Next up on Knee Deep In Sound Berlin based Emanuel Satie releases ‘Paffo’s Riff’ backed with remixes from Guti and Pirupa.
The last 12 months have seen Emanuel top the overall the Beatport chart and receive support from BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong, Mixmag, Eats Everything, Heidi and Matthias Tanzmann. Coupled with releases on Jackathon, Saved, Get Physical, Gruuv and now Knee Deep In Sound the future looks very bright for this German producer.
Title track ‘Paffo’s Riff’ takes the lead with stripped back percussion and lumpy sub hits while an infectious piano hook and choppy vocal shots evolve and unfold throughout. ‘Big Love’ follows and sees Emanuel deliver a slow-brooding dance floor workout with dub stabs and rumbling low-end tones driving the energy levels, while Mama’s hypnotic processed vocal lines further fuel the murky hypnotic groove.
The latter half of the package sees two remixes offered up, the first of which comes from Guti and sees the Argentinian reshape ‘Paffo’s Riff’ with his signature percussive edge alongside ethereal pad swells, while Italy’s Pirupa takes a contrasting approach and reworks ‘Big Love’ into a high octane stab fuelled peak time number.
