Phunk Investigation have marked an important date in the electronic music calendar with their much awaited remix of Palace and Double Project’s ‘Looking For Love’. Out on the 22nd of May, 2015 ‘Looking For Love’ is an all-star project featuring Palace together with a tandem formation between DJ Andrew Leone and David La Palma, the men behind the Double Project moniker. Adding weight to this project are some amazing remixes by the likes of: Kenny Ground & CEA, Joy Bell & One Way, Deepblue and most notably, the world renowned Phunk Investigation.
Having so much talent behind one project is surely a guarantee for top-notch quality. Palace have been busy building a back catalogue of exhilarating releases, including the likes of: Touch Me’, ‘Labrynth’, ‘Vision’, ‘Solstice’, ‘Psychosis’ and ‘Element’ amongst others. Aside from these original productions one cannot forget to mention A-list remixes for: Fatman Scoop, Montell Jordan and Todd Terry amongst others. Dabbling into Electro House, Tech House and Progressive House, Palace’s style has managed to land them numerous label signings with: W&O Street Tracks, Palace Musix, Fave Rec, Hot Haus Recs, Unknown To The Unknown, Banging Grooves Records, ClubSound, Tiger Records and Hypetraxx Records to name a few.
On the other hand, Italian duo now Basel based Double Project have been involved in the electronic music world since 2001, being very active on the live scene as much as production. They have warmed crowds at some of Switzerland’s top clubs, including: Platins, Kaufleuten, Club Q, Rohstofflager, Pravda, The Loft, Casineum, Prestige and Atlantis. Double Project are also renowned for their top-notch releases such as: ‘Free Feelings’ and remixes for Alphaville’s ‘Forever Young’ and Todd Terry’s ‘Camarera’. Establishing themselves as official remixers for the legendary Todd Terry, the duo is certainly a great fit for this project.
Bursting with summery vibes ‘Looking For Love’ is a remarkable five-track effort that is looking to hit the clubs in the coming months. Standing out from the lot is Phunk Investigation’s twist on the original. The chart topping act is world renowned for their work with George Michael, Simple Minds, Boy George, Simply Red and Danny Tenaglia. Dino and Stef, the faces behind Phunk Investigation are also credited with high profile collaborations and remixes for the likes of: John Acquaviva, Danny Tenaglia, Robbie Rivera, DJ Dan, EDX, BT, My Digital Enemy, Luigi Rocca, Federico Scavo, Hoxton Whores, Jerome Robins and many others. Along the years their efforts haven’t gone unnoticed and they have managed to land the support of elite DJs like: Umek, Avicii, Axwell, Dirty South, Roger Sanchez, Moguai and Robbie Rivera.
Phunk Investigation have now put their signature on Palace and Double Project’s ‘Looking For Love’, offering a remarkable remix. Hitting with an old school, Disco inspired feel, this remix is certainly an uplifting wonder. The Funky arrangements and infectious House beats add a chunky groove to the production making it instantly danceable, whilst the string embellishments create a nostalgic 70s atmosphere. Renald’s smooth vocals add spice into the mix whilst catchy melodies, groovy beats and engaging arrangements make this remix a serious summer chart challenger.
Palace Musix is the label who’ve managed to secure the signature on this project. ‘Looking For Love’ is certainly another remarkable project to be added to Palace Musix’s catalogue, building on the works of: Luca M, LK Mania, David M, Salento DJ, Gianni Milani, Joybell, Black Spirit, Chris Bale, DJ Squizz, ZAY, Dany Love, David Puentez, Meyce, Dj Mod3rn and others.
