Manchester DJ/producer Paleman has unveiled his dream-like, skippy reimagining of Vaarwell’s recently released single ‘Undine’, out now via Disorder.
Taking the duo’s emotionally charged original, first shared earlier this month, Paleman reshapes it with his signature rhythmic finesse, transforming the track into something hypnotic, spacious and completely new.
The remix drops just one day after Paleman made an unannounced special guest appearance at Vaarwell’s latest Flight Patterns live show at Bermondsey Social Club (27th November). The night sold out in advance, with the duo performing tracks from their forthcoming ‘3AM On The Northern Line’ mixtape to an intimate, captivated audience. On stage, Vaarwell recreated their world with cinematic precision – Ricardo rebuilding their intricate production live while Margo delivered her haunting vocal layers through vocoders and FX – continuing the immersive aesthetic that has quickly marked them out as one of London’s most captivating new electronic acts.
Known for his percussive sophistication, shadowy sound design and instinct for groove, Paleman’s remix drifts between delicate motion and deep, textural energy. His swung drum palette and minimalist low-end bring a subtle urgency to the song, reframing Vaarwell’s heartbreak narrative through a club-focused, late-night lens. The result is a version that feels tailor-made for dim rooms, shifting lights and introspective dancefloors: atmospheric, transportive and unmistakably Paleman.
‘Undine (Paleman Remix)’ also arrives as anticipation builds for Vaarwell’s debut mixtape ‘3AM On The Northern Line’, out next Friday 5th December. The project explores the duality of London’s nightlife with a mixture of UK garage textures, post-dubstep atmospheres and introspective songwriting – a sound that has become central to the duo’s artistic identity.
Vaarwell’s recent singles – ‘Corinthia’, ‘Corinthia II’ featuring Jeshi and ‘Undine’ — have been met with widespread acclaim from tastemakers including Rolling Stone UK, Wonderland, Notion, Dancewax, The Line of Best Fit, GRM Daily, Jess Iszatt at Radio 1 and Matt Wilkinson at Apple Music 1, cementing the pair’s rising profile as a duo carving out their own cinematic, nocturnal corner of the UK electronic landscape.
By filtering ‘Undine’ through his distinct sonic lens, Paleman extends the emotional universe of the track, fusing Vaarwell’s introspective melancholy with his trademark mesh of percussive sharpness and atmospheric depth. The remix stands as a meeting point between two artists deeply connected to the textures, shadows and after-hours pulse of UK club culture.
