The deep and brooding ‘Parfume’ from Eli & Fur's acclaimed ‘Night Blooming Jasmine’ EP has received three stellar, club-ready reworkings, courtesy of two of house music’s most in-demand remixers – Dosem and Athea, released on Anjunadeep on 14 September 2018.
Dosem’s tough reworking of ‘Parfume’ displays the Spanish Producer’s love of the darker side of techno with its hypnotic and euphoric notes weaving perfectly with Eli & Fur’s delicate vocals to create a rich soundscape that was made for the dance-floor.
UK Producer Athea accentuates the shimmering bass layers of the original with ambient beats to create a dreamy, spellbinding cut perfect for both sunset and sunrise. Athea also delivers a Dub reworking, highlighting the carefully crafted and delicate notes that lie beneath the vocals.
‘Night Blooming Jasmine’ EP saw the leading UK house music duo return to their songwriting roots – putting their voices front and centre, whilst blending their trademark rolling grooves with a refined production style.
"Our journey as club DJs has inspired us in so many ways and we wanted to draw from those experiences, as well as our more song-based tracks earlier in our career and make something a little different that means a lot to us artistically. We feel this EP merges these two worlds together and we hope that what you hear in these songs, is our love of song-writing as well as the darker, more melodic side of electronic music that tells stories and creates emotions."
Feedback from the EP has been extremely positive, with support from a wide range of top DJs and tastemakers including Gorgon City, Claptone, Richy Ahmed, Nic Fanciulli, Just Her, Blond:ish, and Danny Tenaglia.
In the five years since they broke out with early single ‘You’re So High’, Eli & Fur have been championed by BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong, Annie Mac and Danny Howard, amongst many others. Their melodic tech-house sets, peppered with their own vocals, have seen them play regularly at the legendary ANTS parties, with their most recent ANTS Ushuaia set in August 2018 recorded for BBC Radio 1 for a special Ibiza Essential Mix. The duo also perform at huge festivals including Coachella, Tomorrowland, and Ultra Miami.
“Eli & Fur have a unique take on dance music. They are able to approach club music from a different perspective, to crack a window on the stale dance music narratives” (Mixmag)
