Rhymos - Particle Fever

Whistleblower Records is the new label project set up and run by Alan Fitzpatrick, Reset Robot and Rhymos.

The last release saw Alan Fitzpatrick team up with fellow label boss Reset Robot under the production alias of Customer. Picking up massive support from people including Pan-Pot, Adam Beyer, Sasha, Josh Wink and Maya Jane Coles to name but a few. It also received regular airplay on UK national radio station BBC Radio 1 and this next release comes highly anticipated.

This time it’s Rhymos who steps into the limelight. Perhaps not as instantly recognisable as his fellow label partners, but he is no less the producer, with a back catalogue of releases on labels including Guy Gerber’s label Rumors, Murmur, Kina Music, Sintope, Overall Music and DJ W!LD’s label Catwash.

Track one on the release is titled “Particle Fever” that is crisp and spacious with sweeping pads of epic proportion. Pushed forward by the rolling bass line it’s sparsely used textured vocal creates a sense of wonder and mystery. Perfect from start to finish, it’s full of crossover appeal, sitting somewhere between Tech House and Deep Techno.

The second of the two tracks on this release is “Planet of the Grape.” Warm looping pads rise with euphoria, whilst the walking bass line keeps the bottom end moving. With subtle influences from early Detroit Techno and perfectly sequenced percussion, it’s both deep and driving with definite dancefloor appeal.
