Singer-songwriter Patrick Staniforth is set to release his deeply personal new single, English Garden, on January 24th 2025. Known for his raw and honest storytelling, he tells another evocative tale of connection and loss, showcasing the power of his songwriting in a new light. English Garden invites listeners into the intimate story of how Patrick met his long-lost brother and the fleeting yet profound bond they formed.

English Garden delves into the beauty and risk of letting people into your life. Inspired by the time Patrick and his brother spent together in a modest allotment garden – a place that evoked the spirit of an English garden – the track carries a bittersweet message of love, loss, and the inevitability of parting. With a melodic blend of acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums, and subtle keys, the song has a warm, uplifting sound that contrasts with the emotional depth of the story behind it.

The track is a co-write with Graham McGregor-Smith, who helped bring Patrick’s story to life. After developing the story and melody, Patrick brought the track to Ivo Vollering, who produced his entire EP, to capture the right sound in the Berlin recording studio. With its roots in personal experience and its rich, reflective lyrics, English Garden will resonate with fans of artists such as Noel Gallagher, Coldplay, Michael Kiwanuka, Fleet Foxes, and Paul Weller.

Following the gradual release of singles from his upcoming six-track EP, Pieces Pt1, Patrick is set to release English Garden as the 5th track. The EP will be fully unveiled with the release of the final track on March 7th, 2025. Patrick’s work has already captured attention, with each single drawing listeners into his world of heartfelt narratives and emotive melodies.

A versatile musician, Patrick began playing piano at the age of 11, later picking up guitar during his teenage years.
