New Brighton music venue Patterns reveals more names for its launch season in May including Tamo Sumo, DJ Nature, Deetron, DVS1, Gilles Peterson, Artwork, SpectraSoul, Jeremy Underground, Mr. Beatnik, Sisterhood + many more…

With those blessed warmer months just around the corner and the Patterns renovation taking shape, the crew behind Brighton’s latest day-to-night terrace, bar and club venture has revealed more of what’s in store for their incredible launch season, including some of the most currently revered emergent artists and some serious heavyweights from across the electronic spectrum.

Having already announced the mainstay local promoters on board (Disco Deviant, First Floor, Rhythm Junction,  et al) plus some of the lauded International club brands bringing the party in their own signature styles; BUGGEDOut!, Tief and Dimensions Festival, it’s with pride that the first wave of artists is fully unveiled for the launch month of May. Marking the dawn of summer in a town known for its idyllic beach, big beats and boutiques, the timing couldn’t be better and the artists confirmed will only get the mercury rising.

Leading up to a grand opening weekend in conjunction with The Great Escape Festival, Patterns situated on Brighton’s iconic seafront will be opening its doors to the public on Thursday 14th May and welcoming the good people of Brighton town and beyond to sample the delights of the newly designed upstairs terrace and, ground floor bar, providing the perfect setting for the weekend warm up. Old Audio favourite Bastard Pop will continue as a weekly night kicking off on the Thursday while esteemed local talent Soul City will be dishing out the sounds in the bar.

Opening weekend will see Patterns play host to The Great Escape’s after parties ‘The Late Escape’ – with Noisey up first on Friday presenting a confection of bleeding edge talent including Empress of Live, Mick Jenkins live, Fekky live, Bonkaz live, Nah live, Ho99o9 live, Shorebitch DJs, Jamz Supernova, Ed Lilo & the Noisey DJs. Followed by a star studded Saturday soiree brought to you by leading dance music authority Resident Advisor featuring Panorama Bar’s Tama Sumo, one of NY’s finest music makers DJ Nature + more.

Brighton’s very own SpectraSoul will be launching their new album ‘The Mistress’ at Patterns on Friday 22nd, bringing their soulful blend of drum & bass for an all night journey through twisted grooves and infectious melodies. On the same weekend London favourites Tief will be touching down with some key players from the modern school of house, Jeremy Underground, Mr Beatnick, Sisterhood, Hesseltime. Sunday early live action will come courtesy of U.S reggae rapper Matisyahu, followed by BUGGEDOut! with house heavyweight Deetron joined by UK bass hero Artwork & resident Lemmy Ashton.

If your head isn’t spinning already, the last weekend in May has it all – the Rhythm Junction gang will be celebrating their 1st birthday on the Friday with Minneapolis techno don DVS1 alongside residents Mehtola & Levian. Saturday, everyone’s favourite Worldwide selector Gilles Peterson will be upstairs helming the decks and taking the crowd on a spiritual journey through jazzy funk soul and house like only he knows how!

Keeping the basement as a heads down no frills club space, the Patterns crew have made it their mission to ensure the sonic experience of the club is second to none. Mothership Group made this statement regarding the newly installed sound system:
“Our intention is to make Patterns the best sounding venue in Brighton, and the UK. Having tested two of the worlds leading systems head-to-head in the space, we have decided to go with an L’Acoustics sound system that is simply impeccable. C3 Productions & L’Acoustics have custom selected all the components and will be working on this project together to make our venue Brighton’s finest. Keeping the ethos of high quality sound for our Live music shows, a new Midas 32 channel desk and green room with shower facilities have been fitted making Patterns a leading live music venue for touring bands. Whilst up on the ground floor a hand built DJ booth designed by Bad Habits will be powered by a bespoke Ohm PA installed by Brighton based Penguin Media Solutions.”
