Following the success of their melodic big room smash “Strangers” released on Dim Mak earlier this spring, southern-Californian duo PeaceTreaty make quick work of a new two-track EP Seasons – perfecting the anthemic vocal energy that defines their career.
The titular track on the EP “Seasons” is a flurry of soaring vocals from fellow Californian ELEX paired with buoyant piano riffs and synth builds. In collaboration with Arem Ozguc on “Tell Me,” PeaceTreaty mixes high-pitched vocals with laser stabs in counterpoint to the deep, booming bassline.
PeaceTreaty is the musical partnership of Los Angeles-natives Josh Anaya and Angelo Patino-Patroni who started their career playing local underground warehouse parties five years ago. The duo was quickly recognized for their expert studio work and signed by Steve Aoki to Dim Mak in 2011 when they released their first EP with the label. Outside of their original compositions, PeaceTreaty are prodigious remixers and have been commissioned to rework tracks by dance music titans including Diplo, A-Trak, Steve Aoki, Dada Life and Sidney Samson, to name a few. Between concocting hits in the studio for imprints like Dim Mak, Mad Decent, and Fool’s Gold, and commanding the decks at festivals such as Tomorrowland and Electric Daisy Carnival, PeaceTreaty continues to prove themselves as melodic house mavens.
