Carpe Diem, tempus fugit, the fleeting nature of time and life’s impermanence are all music-and-message themes bound up in Peter Steele and Christina Novelli’s first studio gathering.
Over the last ten, Peter has established himself as a formidable producer, building a rep through his unstinting output on PTR, FSOE, Black Hole, Perfecto and GO Music. Through lyric, turntable and voice, Christina meanwhile has forged forward to become one of the acoustic and electronic voices of her generation. Together, that’s made ‘Moment In Time’ but a matter of time!
Echoing its title, ‘Moment In Time’s words advocate for a letting go of the past, and a resolution that ‘the present’ is all that truly matters. “Burn all the secrets we keep” sings Christina, while Peter picks out each lyrical line with piano notes and intuitively tracks each sentiment with his curling 303 and moving melodies.
