Peter Xan and Rudimental have unveiled a brand-new remix package for their collaborative single ‘Glow In The Dark’, out now.
The two-track release opens with a remix from Rudimental themselves, with the multi-platinum outfit opting for a refined rework that lends ‘Glow In The Dark’ a sophisticated liquid D&B vibe. Next up, Devon-born duo Slim Typical drop their ‘Garage Refix’, a slick, bumpin’ 2-step number laced with infectious spoken word vocals.
The track came together after Peter and Rudimental had been working together in the studio and finalised the record, with Black Butter – home to Rudimental’s releases for several years in the early 2010’s – feeling like the perfect home for its release and the inspiring initiative which was launched by late music mogul Jamal Edwards. Working with tech company Adobe, the aim of the partnership was to provide young creators a path into the music industry, with 10 young creatives participating in group training sessions, which culminated in them producing and directing the official video for the track, supported by directors Tyrus and Lux London. The result is a dystopian, yet fitting tribute for Jamal and the inspirational work he did with young creators.
Peter Xan is a British-born Nigerian artist making indie rock music. Inspired by the bands of the 2000’s indie scene, including The Kooks, The Courteeners, The Klaxons and Bloc Party, he has a relaxed yet energetic style that’s laid over hard-hitting rock themed productions, and aims to re-pioneer rock music for black people. A proud Nigerian, he uses his heritage as inspiration for his music and visuals, with a career highlight already achieved as he supported Ann Marie at Wembley Arena last month.
One of the biggest-selling UK musical acts of the century, multi-platinum four-piece Rudimental have amassed two UK #1 albums, three UK #1 singles, more than 5 billion streams and a long list of accolades that includes a MOBO and the Brit Award for ‘Best Single of the Year’ across their decade in the industry. They can also count the likes of Ed Sheeran, James Arthur and Rita Ora amongst their previous collaborations.
Slim Typical are a production duo who signed to Rudimental’s Major Tom’s Publishing in 2020. In the years since they have worked with artists ranging from Digga D to Anne-Marie to Headie One, demonstrating the duo’s production versatility. Their multi-genre production style has gained cuts in the drill, grime and UK rap world, with the likes of RV, Shocktown, Jelani Blackman and Dezzie.
The ‘Glow In The Dark’ remix package draws on the UK’s rich dance music lineage to deliver two dope, club-ready reworks.
