Blackpool’s favourite all-day clubbing event Pier Jam, will return to the North Pier on Bank Holiday Sunday 30th April for its first event of 2017. Across 2 outdoor stages and 2 indoor arenas, Pier Jam is set to welcome 4,000 party people to soak up the sunshine, sea air and some of the best DJ talent around. The lineup for the bank holiday event features future-house French producer Tchami; fellow French duo Amine Edge & DANCE; Defected’s Sam Divine; chart topping duo Tough Love, grime stalwart Preditah; garage legend MJ Cole; the multi-talented remixer and producer Jamie Duggan and many more. Taking place from 2pm until 11pm, this is a destination for quality electronic music in a unique outdoor setting. Earlybird tickets sold out in record time but first release tickets priced at £20 + bf are now on sale from www.skiddle.com/e/12917809
Pier Jam first launched with a series of events throughout summer 2015. With the outside atmosphere and sea view backdrop on Blackpool Pier, it immediately created a special kind of clubbing vibe. To date it has showcased big names acts including Heidi, DJ Zinc, DJ EZ, Darius Syrossian, MK, Basement Jaxx, Shadow Child, Hannah Wants, Duke Dumont and many more. Curated by the in-house team at Manchester’s iconic Victoria Warehouse, Pier Jam is primed to bring back the all-day clubbing vibe for 2017.
The Bank Holiday Sunday event on 30th April sees headliner Tchami make a return to Pier Jam after striking a chord with crowds in summer 2016. Flying the flag for the “future house” sound worldwide, through a string of tracks and mixes signed to Fools Gold and Ministry – most notably the UK Top 10 single Promesses – Tchami’s sound bridges the gap between clublife and festival stages, which makes him the perfect headliner for Pier Jam.
Pier Jam also welcomes more crowd favourites back to the boardwalk, including Amine Edge & DANCE with their unique brand of funked up, hip-house, Defected In The House resident Sam Divine to drop the dancefloor house bombs, and London-duo Tough Love, with their energetic, bass-heavy DJ set – guaranteed to get the jam on!
For garage fans, Skepta’s tour DJ Preditah, will bring bass-wobbling house and garage, as will music icon MJ Cole, the man behind some of the most important records of the past decades, from the 1998 classic Sincere to the rolling tribal club cut Bouldaz on Disclosure’s Method White imprint in 2015.
House and Bass specialist Jamie Duggan also joins the Pier Jam bill, with some impressive remix credits to his name, including rap-royalty Wiley, as does George Kwali who, along with production partner Kideko, was responsible of one of 2016’s biggest tunes, Crank It (Woah!).
Furthermore, the lineup features Ministry of Sound signing TIEKS whose track Sunshine was one of the most Shazamed tracks in 2016; in-demand DJ / producer James Hype who made such an impression on Mistajam that he was invited to join the 1xtra airwaves for an exclusive mix; and Birmingham’s hottest house export, Official Nancie.
Anyone looking for quality house, bass and garage music, and an alternative location to party this summer, should get on board for Pier Jam. Earlybird tickets did sell out in record time, but first release tickets are now available for £20 + bf from www.skiddle.com/e/12917809. VIP tickets are also on sale priced at £35 + bf – perks include queue jump, access to the VIP arena for even more cutting-edge music, plus private bar and toilets.
