Martin Solveig ft. Ina Wroldsen - Places (Icarus Remix)
Parisian hitmaker Martin Solveig has recruited Bristol-based electronic duo Icarus to remix his latest single, ‘Places’ feat. Ina Wroldsen, out today via Positiva/Virgin EMI.
Formed around Ina Wroldsen’s sultry vocals, Icarus’ club-facing rendition of ‘Places’ is armed with ambient synth chords, a stomping bassline and syncopated percussion, which compliments Martin’s original track. Consisting of brothers Tom and Ian Griffiths, Icarus’ cleverly crafted blend of house music has been championed across BBC Radio 1 by Pete Tong, Annie Mac and Mistajam, to name a few.
Solveig displayed a striking new sound for the original of his single ‘Places’ and enlisted the vocal talent of Norwegian singer/songwriter Ina Wroldsen, who notably leant her vocals to Calvin Harris & Disciples’ hit ‘How Deep Is Your Love’ and co-wrote Clean Bandit’s #1 single ‘Rockabye’.
Released at the end of last year, the upbeat track has received over 13.4 million Spotify plays and gained support across BBC Radio 1 from Danny Howard, Clara Amfo and Adele Roberts.
Solveig has recently been spending time in the studio collaborating with a wealth of exciting artists, including Oliver Heldens, Clean Bandit and Tiga. Elsewhere, Martin has announced he will be bringing his spectacular ‘My House’ party series to Egg London on 10th March. The highly-anticipated event follows on from his Pacha residency last summer, where he played alongside a star-studded cast of guest artists including Mark Ronson, Diplo, Tinie Tempah and Blonde.
