With a quartet of excellent remixes for Booka Shade, Cajmere, Format:B and John Monkman & Pete Tong already under their belts in 2014, as well as Kraftek EPs from formidable talents Jaceo, Matrixxman and Paul Ursin, Pleasurekraft are back to present four-track label project, ‘The Garden Of Earthly Delights’.
Following a similar blueprint to previous volumes of the impressive ‘Kraftek Villains’ series, it’s an EP that not only encompasses Kraftek’s consistently intriguing, ever-evolving release policy but one that also features Pleasurekraft’s first original material of the year. ‘One Last High’, produced alongside label proteges Jaceo and Vedic, showcases Pleasurekraft at their best, deploying signature, groove-laden techno rhythm, crackly film score sampling and thumping, near-mesmeric bass to powerful effect.
Indian producer Arjun Vagale also features with superb, tech-house roller ‘Clot’, whilst German duo Hanne & Lore fuse hazy vocal hooks with down-tempo beats on the infectious ‘Turn It On’, before fellow German producer-duo Piemont round off proceedings with the peak, summertime flow of ‘Jaywalk’. Out on October 6th, it’s a inspired selection of tracks that lifts the lid on Pleasurekraft’s eclectic, hands-on approach to signing music.
Through sourcing out exploratory new club music via producers from all corners of the world on ‘The Garden Of Earthly Delights’, the duo not only lay down their own eclectic marker with Kraftek but prove that they are an act who keep their ears firmly to the ground. With a firm studio focus now on producing new material in light of ‘One Last High’, Pleasurekraft remain on course to count 2014 as one of the busiest and most successful years yet.
