London based DJ, vinyl archivist & musical curator Gideön has been playing Deep House, Northern Soul, Roots Reggae, Acid House, Disco, Soul, Vintage Gospel and Rare Groove for the last 24 years.
Since his first set of decks aged 14 he has devoted his life to collecting black music vinyl from the US, Jamaica and the UK. Now that his vinyl habit includes Northern Soul, Reggae & Vintage Gospel rarities, he has been forced into a life of hopeless poverty and destitution.
Gideön is co-founder and musical curator of Absolution – an off-location party catering for Berlin's musically discerning gay Underground, held in off the grid dis-used buildings that are off the regular clubbing grid.
Gideön’s weekly radio show on London’s Soho Radio hosts the likes of Mr G, Seth Troxler, Fast Eddie, Midland, Horse Meat Disco, Bill Brewster, Mark E, Prosumer, Robert Owens & Bicep.
Gideön is co-creator of hybrid music & art installations currently part of the Block9 portfolio at Glastonbury Festival. These include The NYC Downlow, The London Underground, Genosys and Maceo's. As well as co-designing and producing these venues he curates their musical programmes as well as booking talent for a variety of other events too.
Gideön is also resident DJ at Berlin’s Soulhole. A bi-monthly night of Homocentric Sisterfunk, Northern Soul and Gospel.
