Tim Engelhardt, the 19-year-old prodigy producer has announced dates for his North America spring tour with seven live shows showcasing his own original music with live keys at The Cityfox Experience in Brooklyn, Desert Hearts Festival, Miami and more US cities this April. With an impressive discography already behind him which has earned him the support of heavyweights including Dixon, Âme, Steve Bug, John Digweed and Solomun, the German wunderkind is without a doubt one of the most exciting producers on the rise with a very promising future ahead.
One of Cologne’s youngest and brightest electronic music stars, Tim Engelhardt traded in classical music for synths and bass drums and released his very first record when he was only 14 after discovering luminary techno talent Robert Babicz. Fast forward five years and at 19 he is the youngest artist ever to be signed to Steve Bug’s Poker Flat Recordings and has more than twenty releases already behind him. Dropping his debut album in 2017 ‘Moments of Truth’ on his home label Poker Flat Recordings, he also boasts multiple collaborations with Romania’s BOg including their single “No More Words” on Dixon’s Innervisions and “Why Should” on Solomun’s Diynamic. Not one to ever slow down, 2018 has already seen him put out a five track EP with BOg titled ‘Alma’ out on Poker Flat Recordings and remixes of Compuphonic’s classic track “Sunset” on Get Physical Music. Only ever performing live, his sets feature unique improvised rearrangements and track combinations incorporating live keys using both digital and analog hardware creating a deep and melodic soundscape that draws from his days as a classically trained pianist through to afro and tribal beats.
Kicking off his second US tour to date, Tim Engelhardt will make his first stop in Miami on April 13 at Behrouz’s intimate nightclub Do Not Sit On The Furniture before returning to New York to once again take over the decks at The Cityfox Experience on April 14 alongside industry leaders Âme, Tiga, and Oliver Schories. Next he will make his way down to Washington, D.C. for a live performance at Flash Rooftop on April 15 before heading to Boston for Re:Set Wednesdays at The Phoenix Landing on April 18. On April 20, he will perform at Montréal’s minimalist nightspot Newspeak before heading to California for a show at San Francisco’s Midway Patio on April 22. On April 29 Tim Engelhardt will finish off his US tour with one of his biggest performances to date at the wildly popular, sold out Desert Hearts Festival in southern California.
With an exceptionally busy studio and touring schedule which has already taken him across Europe with a stop at 2017’s Amsterdam Dance Event, Fusion Festival (2016), North America, Australia to Strawberry Fields Festival (2017) and India, there’s no doubting Tim Engelhardt is a truly gifted talent leading the new wave of melodic techno producers.
