Polarkreis 18 hit revamped by German acts Frey and Sway Gray An anthem to unite: ‘Allein Allein’

If there was ever a moment for Polarkreis 18’s classic pop hit ‘Allein Allein’ to receive a serious rework, this is it. In a time of home quarantine, where the feeling of being alone is stronger than ever, we need an anthem to unite, reminding the world we are all in it together. Worldwide acclaimed German artists Frey and Sway Gray got that message, reworking the song in a strong slap house version, featuring the original vocals of Polarkreis 18 singer Felix Räuber.

Already an inspirational track in its original shape, ‘Allein Allein’ turned into a smash #1 hit for German synth pop band Polarkreis 18. Besides reaching high in the band’s home country, the record also topped the charts in countries like Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Switserland, Austria and Israel. In the end, it proved itself as one of the biggest European hits in the late zeroes.

Fast forward to 2020, the year dominated by corona, home quarantine and feelings of crisis and despair. It’s exactly in this mixture of emotions when ‘Allein Allein’ comes alive again, this time produced by renowned German DJ/producers Frey and Sway Gray (who recently met Polarkreis 18 singer Felix Räuber in Berlin, and started working on a new version of the legendary song).

In their aptly titled new single ‘Wir Sind Nicht Allein (Allein Allein)’ (literally translated as ‘we are not alone’) the original’s vocals are left intact, feeling more appropriate than ever, while a strong groove brings an uplifting energy to the track.

It’s a delicate blend of the burgeoning slap house sound (gaining more popularity by the day) with a heart warming message that we are not completely alone in these difficult times – we are alone together. The result is as melancholic as it is energetic, bonding the world while making sure we keep dancing. Make way for a timeless anthem that just keeps giving positivity.

“Allein Allein” has always been one of my favorite tracks. I saw Polarkreis 18 opening for Depeche Mode at the Olympiastadium in Berlin years ago. The track was produced in one night and I knew this was something special. In times like these it’s even more important to know that you are not alone („Wir sind nicht allein”)!” – Frey

“I’m very proud of this release we’ve been working on for so long! Everyone did their best and TOGETHER we now present a song that hopefully can give many people in this difficult situation a good feeling, at least for a short moment, because we are not alone, we are ONE TEAM!” – Sway Gray
