POP SENSATIONS BAY CITY ROLLERS JOIN T IN THE PARK 2016 LINE-UP

T in the Park festival organisers DF Concerts and founding partner Tennent’s Lager are excited to reveal that pop sensations Bay City Rollers will be joining this year’s T in the Park line-up.

The Bay City Rollers were the biggest pop band in the world, now Rollermania is set to explode again with the announcement fans across the globe have been waiting for.

Les, Woody and Alan, have been in the Boombox Recording Studios in Glasgow this year writing and recording the forthcoming, new Bay City Rollers album. The first track to be released this summer will be the long-awaited single ‘Boomerang’ which is a little slice of what’s to come.

Singer Les McKeown couldn't be happier to be running with the old gang again;

“This album sounds like the tape machines were never switched off in the 70’s, and we never missed a beat”

The gang wouldn't be complete without Stuart "Woody" Wood and he's as excited as everyone else at the prospect of playing with his old friends once again.

“The new album sounds like we’ve gone full circle, it was super exciting to recreate those career defining guitar sounds, and doing the vocals with the lads brought all the great memories flooding back”

Just like Les and Woody, bassist Alan Longmuir is firmly on board and can't wait to get started, saying:

“It was so exciting to be in the studio with Les, and Woody! Forty years in the making….But we’re still packing some rock’n’roll punch! The record sounds epic”

The Forrest Boombox record label are proud to be in the process of recording the first new Bay City Rollers album in forty years. Producer and Hitmaker John McLaughlin and self-confessed Rollers fan is fiercely proud to be co-writing and producing this album with the first single Boomerang due for release very soon!

"For me, it's an absolute dream come true. The Bay City Rollers were the first records I ever bought and the excitement value on those records are what made me want to be a songwriter and record producer. I would love to even get close to how great those records were then with what we're doing now. I’ve had to pinch myself being in the studio with my rock’n’roll heroes the Bay City Rollers. I feel we’ve captured some of the magic and excitement from the world famous hits, that the fans (like myself) have grown to love.”

With sales of over 70 million records worldwide, one of the all-time great pop bands are back to do it all over again. Get ready for the return of Rollermania, because the Bay City Rollers are back!
