In red-hot form, this new single from Dublin’s much-loved dance duo arrives in the wake of a string of summer shows, including to 20,000 fans in their hometown in Punchestown
Irish hitmakers Belters Only return with their new single ‘Something Real’, out August 23rd on Polydor/Chaos.
The new belter follows their June show to 20,000 at Punchestown Racecourse (full set here), a DJ set and live performance featuring regular collaborator Jazzy at Radio 1 Dance Ibiza and a show at Galway Airport last weekend, where the Dublin-born pair played ‘Something Real’ to a 5,000-strong crowd (clip here).
‘Something Real’ reflects Belters Only’s ability to rouse crowds with emotive synths and cause rave carnage. Featuring the vocals of Cheddar Man, it echoes the ethereal, cosmic nature of the single’s artwork, setting the scene through dreamy, spacious synths and pads. A punchy techno-y house track akin to the pair’s anthemic brand of house, this vast celestial space is soon bottlenecked back to earth through an unreal drop and sharp, rave-y organ stabs.
It’s the first single from Belters Only since the catchy July-released piano house slammer ‘Out Of My Hands’, featuring rising vocalist Alex Mills. This year, they’ve also provided an energetic remix of Flex’s Nate Dogg-sampling hit ‘6 In The Morning’ and a hedonistic Ibiza-inspired take on St. Paul’s soulful track ‘Colder’ in March, not to mention an official remix of Maverick Sabre’s hit ‘I Need’ late last year.
Also in 2023, Belters Only teamed up with Sonny Fodera and Jazzy for the huge ‘Life Lesson’, an instant mainstay for the boys that’s cruised past 15M Spotify streams already and has made a regular big impact on dancefloors, as you can witness here.
The popularity of this Irish duo – made up of Bissett and RobbieG – is far from waning, as Belters Only continue to build a cult following of fans (102k TikTok followers + 6th most-viewed TikTok music page in Ireland in 2022, 50k Instagram followers, and 40k YouTube subscribers). Their hit single in 2022, ‘Make Me Feel Good’ reached No.1 in Ireland, #4 on the UK Singles Chart, and reached #2 on the UK Dance Chart. They’ve also sold out a number of massive venues, including the 2,000-capacity Telegraph Building in Belfast.
‘Something Real’ is a single that arrives during a truly pivotal time for Belters Only, as their popularity continues to expand rapidly. This weekend, they play at Creamfields, where fans can feel the full force of this incredible new single.
